If you want to try out Drupal without paying for any hosts, you can use the demo version which is available for 50 minutes before it resets. We have specially made a tutorial for you, in which, we are going to show you how to install store locator to Drupal.
Drupal store locator – installation
The first thing, you have to do is registering at our website (totally free). Without it, you won’t be able to get a specially generated store locator code from SaaS. When you are done with it, you can easily get a script which you need to install a module. Especially for you, we have compared preview, in which we are going to show you how to simply do it.
The next thing after copying code is getting into the “Structure” tab which you can find on the dashboard.
When you are going to click on it, it will display many categories, but you will have to choose only the one which is called “Block layout”.
The next step is just as simple as the latest one, but now you will have to scroll the page down and find “Content” category and then just click the “Place block” button.
The last one screen is displaying the final step before the most important one. You will have to click on the button called “Add custom block”.
After the previous step, the site will move you to the page where you will have to add your own content with the script. Some fields are required, but the most important ones are called “Block description”, “Body” and “Text format”. The first step you will have to do is writing in “Block description”, the name of your block – it can be called whatever you want (in our case, we named it “Nearplace store locator”).
The next thing is changing the value of the field which is called “Text format”, using a drop-down bar and setting the value from “Basic HTML” to “Full HTML”. After you do it, you will have to click on the “Source” button at the “Body” section. When you are going to make it, you will be able to paste the code (which we show you how to get it from our site on the very beginning) in this field without any problems. After it, you can just click on the “Save” button at the end of the page. It will take you to another site, where you will have to open another drop-down bar from the “Region” field (which is required) and choose the value described as “Content”. That’s all!
As you can see, you don’t have to bother with finding the way to install your website locator on Drupal. It is really easy, even if you are doing it on your own (of course with our help, you don’t have to), so if you want to add a module to your site based on Drupal or any other CMS. The rule is the same – you have to find the header, footer, or whatever place you want on your website where you can paste a special store locator code.
Summarising, Drupal is a CMS which doesn’t require any special knowledge, which you have to use to add any modules like locator maps. Now what was simply, is simpler with our tutorial – it’s not a problem anymore to use on your own Drupal store locator. If you have any special questions or something to tell us, what we should change or add to the tutorial, then just leave us a comment, for sure we are going to answer it!
